Anthony Fauci was in Washington state the past couple of days to receive MLB’s Hutch Award, which is given to someone who persevered through adversity. While there, he took part in an interview at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, led by friend and colleague Dr. Larry Corey.
During the interview, which you can see below, Corey mentions that Washington state was 'at the epicenter of the initial outbreak.'
Fauci immediately chimes in with a joke saying, 'No, I developed the ancestral model strain. I created it,' in which the crowd laughs.
Yes, Fauci joked about a virus that has killed over 6.5 million people worldwide, including one million Americans (all on his watch).

This is definitely not a laughing matter. I understand that people are tired of Covid. However, so another horrific pandemic like this does not happen again in at least our lifetime and for many generations to come, we need to get to the bottom of it. I highly recommend the Ask Dr. Drew interview yesterday with Alex Berenson with Dr. Kelly Victory joining both of them, which discusses this.
One last note, next time, Fauci should joke around about creating Covid in his kitchen right to the face of the families who lost loved ones due to Covid, as well as anyone who was hospitalized or suffers from long-hauler Covid. Let’s see if they think it is funny.
